Thanksgiving and Cookie Decorating at the Whisnant's

Our Thanksgiving this year, like most years, was spent with the Whisnants. Aunt Julie always has something, like decorating cookies, for the kids to do. This year, they all, including Julie's grandson Bradyn, decorated a gingerbread village.

It sure looked like fun, but I'm not sure if they made quite a big enough mess!

Catherine becomes a Brownie!

Catherine's troop held an Investiture/Bridging Ceremony. Several of the girls in the troop, bridged from Daisies to Brownies.

Girl Scout tradition has a Brownie story. In that story, the little girls are told by a wise old owl to look into the pond and they'll find the ever helpful brownies they are looking for.

Once they look over, they see that they are the Brownie.

Mary Claire's First Service Project

Mary Claire's first service project with her Girl Scout troop, was a food drive for the local shelter.
She and her friend, Libby, went door to door asking for donations from our neighbors. At the end of our walk, they had 73 cans of food!

On Saturday, we brought all of the donated food to HAAM. Some of the troop came, along with a girl from Catherine's troop.

Children's Museum Part 2

The fun continued in the art studio.

Gregory was very serious during his check up of this dog. A future veterinarian?

Mary Claire really like this pattern wall. She completed the whole thing!

This was the first day that we've been at the Children's Museum, since the remodel, that we've had nice enough weather to go outside.

Putting on a puppet show!

Little chicks. Very cute!

Children's Museum Part 1

Thursday was a half day for the girls. With a few hours to spare, we headed in to town for a visit to the Children's Museum.

This was a treat for the girls, as they are usually in school when we go.

Catherine took being a detective very seriously.

Checking her brother's heart.

Her own heart needs help?!?!

We sat in the diner for a while, while the kids pretended to cook and serve.

Amelia really wanted to eat all of the food!

Gregory's Thanksgiving Feast

The preschool Gregory attends, has a Thanksgiving Feast each year. Gregory's PreK-3 class dressed as Native Americans and they feasted with the PreK-4 class, who were dressed as Pilgrims.

After the feast, it was off to the gym for games. Turkey Bowling, of course.

Bean Bag toss.

Gregory lined up to go back to class. While Mrs. Sharon was counting heads, do you think she was singing, "One little, two little, three little Indians."

Some Sweetness Cuteness

I found a little girl hiding under the baker's rack, with my drink.

I think it's safe to say that she liked it!

Mary Claire turns 6 years old!

Mary Claire is six! We gave her breakfast in bed, double chocolate chocolate chip muffins, OJ, and coffee milk.

When she got home from school, she was covered in dress up jewelry from her teacher. In this picture, the Sherrill's are singing to her!

She really wanted to go to Chuck E. Cheese, so off we went!

Mary Claire was so excited to get her gifts, specifically this pillow pet.

She also got Zoobles from the Stokes!

Make a wish!

Everyone had fun at Chuck E. Cheese, even Jeff!

Dylan and Gregory, best buds!

This game was Gregory's favorite.

Very competitive!
