Visit from Grannie

Grannie came for a visit last night, and flew out very early this morning. My children don't get to see any of their grandparents very often, but when they do, they love it. Amelia took a little while to warm up, but she eventually realized that THIS was someone special. I think Grannie thinks she is pretty special too.

Houston is being inundated with more rain from Tropical Storm Alex today. It's very dreary. Dreary mornings call for pancakes. The only two who would let me snap pictures were Gregory and Mary Claire. Catherine wants me to share that she was hiding under the table to avoid being photographed.

Gregory is making a mean monster face, in usual silly Gregory fashion.

Mary Claire is well, Mary Claire, practically perfect in every way.

We did make it out of our pajamas before Daddy came home yesterday, but no promises for today.

Tropical Storm Alex

With Tropical Storm Alex providing lots of rain, and severe weather warnings, I have a feeling that this may be how we spend our day. In pajamas. The rain is welcome and will provide some relief from the Texas heat and large water bills.

Grannie, my mom, will arrive tonight. The Hotel de Theut will provide a bed until the Theut Taxi brings her to the airport at 5am. She's flying out to Nashville to spend the holiday weekend with my dad. She'll return on Tuesday. The kids will be excited to see her, plus she always brings "surprises" for them.
